Ingredients

  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup lard room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all purpose flour or sub in 1-for-1 GF flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • In large bowl, mix eggs, lard, milk, and vanilla together.
  • In medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add dry ingredients to wet and mix until blended. Pour half the batter into your prepared baking dish.
  • In empty bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon until combined.
  • Sprinkle half the brown sugar cinnamon mixture on top of the batter. Top with remaining batter. Then top with remaining half of brown sugar cinnamon mixture.
  • Drizzle melted butter on top, using more or less as desired.
  • Bake 35-40 minutes and serve warm.
