Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup lard
  • 2 free range eggs
  • 3 large, ripe bananas
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 F.
  • Mash bananas with a fork.
  • Lightly beat eggs.
  • Stir eggs, bananas, and lard together.
  • Mix in remaining ingredients. Stir until fully mixed.
  • Pour batter into a bread pan. Bake for 60-70 minutes until golden brown. Can also be divided into muffin tins and baked for 15 minutes or until golden brown
  • When finished, remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, remove from pan to a cooling rack.
