  • 4 oz butter (1/2 cup)
  • 4 oz lard (1/2 cup)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Free Range Eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 ½ cups all purpose flour (we use gluten free)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips


  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • Cream together the butter, lard & sugars then add eggs one at a time and beat until fluffy then add vanilla.
  • Add flour, salt, baking powder and soda and cinnamon and mix until incorporated, then add oats and chocolate chips.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and form dough into balls on the sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Dough balls can also be frozen for future baking and then baked, from frozen, for 12 to 14 minutes
